Titel:  Oracle APEX – the promising future of Oracle Forms?

Abstract: Can an Oracle Forms application be easily migrated to Oracle APEX?
How can an Oracle Forms applications benefit from Oracle APEX?
How could a project to replace Oracle Forms with Oracle APEX be set up, and what points need to be considered?

These and other questions will be addressed during this presentation.
In a brief introduction of Oracle APEX, we focus on the architecture as well as similarities and differences to Oracle Forms.
Practical examples are used to show areas in which Oracle Forms applications can be supplemented by Oracle APEX and thus meets new business needs.
We also report on our approach, challenges and experience with migration projects from Oracle Forms to Oracle APEX – and round off the picture with project examples.

Speaker: Mark Eichhorst

Mark Eichhorst started software development with Oracle Databases, Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports in 1992.

Since then, the Oracle technology stack accompanied him in various roles of his entire professional career – from Software Developer to Software Architect as well as Management.

He is co-founder and managing director of the company “Der It-Macher GmbH”.  With around 25 experts, the company’s focus is on consultancy, software development and support for Oracle customers which are using Oracle Forms, Reports and/or Oracle APEX.
